INTERACTIVE WIZARD OF OZ
The Rowan College of Performing Arts will feature story-telling, songs, dances and activities and games for children in the telling of the story inspired by the film based on the popular L. Frank Baum stories, where Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado’s path and end up in the land of Oz. In Oz, she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and grant her new friends the things they desire most, a brain, a heath and courage.
the following is a breakdown of the chapters of the story that will be preformed two times each Thursday at 6:30 and 7:30 pm throughout summer fest:
Chapter 1: Establish Kansas setting (Dorothy lives with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, dog Toto and 3 farm hands). Toto bites evil neighbor Mrs. Gulch, who threatens to have him taken away—or worse! Dorothy runs away and meets mysterious Professor Marvel. There is a twister and Dorothy is transported to Oz.

Chapter 5: Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man travel through a dark forest where they encounter a lion who is afraid of everything! He joins them on their journey so that the Wizard can give him courage. The Wicked Witch creates a magic field of poppies to put our heroes to sleep. Glinda the Good Witch sends snow to wake them up. They make it to Emerald City.
